4-week Intermediate Wheel-Throwing Course

This intermediate-level course is designed for students with a foundational understanding of wheel throwing who wish to expand their skills. Over four weeks, we will explore techniques for creating more complex forms, helping you refine your craftsmanship and elevate your pottery abilities. To get the most out of this course, please ensure you are confident with the skills covered in our beginner-level throwing courses.

Schedule:

The course takes place in 4 days , runs for 2.5hrs each day.

Day 1: Creating closed forms, such as a vase with a neck

Day 2: Making lidded pots and exploring various ways to fit a lid

Day 3: Using chunks to trim different forms of pots

Day 4: Glazing various forms of pots and loading the kiln.

Additional Information:

  • Course fee is £280 per person. Maximum 4 people per class. Clay, glaze and firing cost are included.

  • You can choose which pieces you wish to glaze and fire to take home, but keep in mind that unfired pots can be recycled. However, once fired, the piece becomes non-degradable. Please make your decisions thoughtfully.
