Tired of making simple ceramic bowls and plates?

It’s time to level up your kitchenware game! In this workshop, you’ll make your very own claypot—perfect for rice, porridge, or cozy one-pot hotpot, just in time for winter. Not just functional, but a statement piece to bring straight from kiln to kitchen.

This workshop is open to all skill level, Bao will provide in-depth demonstration on how to handbuild a strong and functioning claypot. Students will practice the skills of pinching, coiling, basic sculpting and small details refining. The techniques learned in this workshop can be also be applied for many future projects.

Now based in Tokyo, Japan, Bao Chen is an experienced ceramics artist and educator. After graduating from the ceramics program at Shanghai Art and Design Academy in 2012, Bao has exhibited and taught in both China and Japan. Having trained in traditional techniques at the Cizhou kilns in China, Bao’s work is a beautiful combination of heritage craftsmanship and a modern way of life.  Now with his first exhibition in the UK, we have the exciting opportunity to launch this special workshop with him.
